"two man cars don't work any better than one man car"

Louisville is 3 times more violent than when most retirees began their careers. This requires a different approach to policing in many regards. There will always be a vocal element within the department primarily worried about their free gas or being able to talk to their girlfriends on duty in their vehicle without someone overhearing. Sorry, but this job isn't necessarily orbiting about someone's personal convenience.

In a violent encounter, you usually have no more than 30 seconds before bullets start flying or a suspect starts doing the "ground and pound" on their officer-victim. Backup 5 minutes away may as well be a half-hour away. They're probably not going to help you stay alive, as the female officer found out today. A civilian kept her in the fight and alive, by pure luck. Most in the sh--ty parts of town will stand there and take videos for World Star Hip Hop, Youtube and Facebook.

The picture shows how front seat equipment can be configured differently for 2 officers. It's not difficult.
