Just because you got a rehire letter it doesn't mean they will even want you back so the joke is on you. I know at least 2 people who got those letters and when they went to apply, the department said "no thanks". You need to know that LMPD sends those letters out to pretty much anyone who retired within the past three years and has been gone at least 6 months. You could probably end those pesky letters with a simple phone call to Training but I bet you would rather not burn that bridge really.
