Officers are under no obligation to advocate for homosexual lifestyles if their religious opposes it. The department can try, and they can go to court for the next 3 years and lose. I'm sure they would try to penalize employees and get sued for even more, because they're stupid like that. There is no way they can construe that was a legitimate work requirement for a police officer.
