It would take as much time to draw an M-9 bayonet or Kabar knife from its scabbard, as it does to draw a pistol from the holster. It'd be sort of pointless when you've only got about a second or so to respond to a knife threat. Knives are great, but I'd rather bring a gun to a knife fight.
