LMPD chief defends changes to department, says he asked mayor for more officers

Let's be honest. The truth here is actually worse than that. There are 2 possible truths here: 1, This answer to them in that interview was totally fabricated. As it appears watching the video, he simply didn't fire because he was nowhere near the other 2 officers and much further than they were from the subject. Why didn't he just say that? The 2nd possibility, the one no one is willing to talk about, is that the truth could also be he didn't fire because he didn't yet think there was reason to. No one wants to MMQ other cops, but it is a very real possibility that an officer with 3x as much time on as the other 2 felt entirely differently than they did. He just happens to have made it worse for himself by giving a total BS response to why he didn't fire. Maybe his actual "cowardice" lies in being afraid to admit the real reason he didn't fire his weapon
