They can also walk over to John Yarmouth and Mitch McConnell's offices to ask when we can expect to see some concrete positive actions out of the federal agencies here. Crips, Bloods, and the drug networks are all interstate and lie squarely in their area of responsibility.

It sounds like we need a new mayor, police chief and sheriff. But is Aubrey up to the task? And also the sheriff department is going to have to boost the pay. Because most of the certified deputies anit even making 40,000 even with the KLEF fund. A LMPD academy recruit makes more than a deputy that graduated from the academy. And how can we tell the city council of this plan?

The metro council really, really needs to pass an ordinance making LMPD create a task force similar to the one described at the link below.

Nobody in charge has demonstrated they understand how to run a multi-agency task force. Whatever happened to Operation Trust? It was announced and nobody ever mentioned it again. LMPD command needs a lot more guidance on exactly what they are required to do. Combating violent gangs and taking down entire drug networks is a lot harder than cases against small drug networks and other low level cases people are used to in Louisville. The metro council should start consulting ex-police from other cities who've proven they know how to reduce violent crime, so they can continuously point Conrad in the right direction.
