The hiring process and academy bottlenecks won't allow that even if they have the money and want to hire. There is also the usual attrition. LMPD won't be able to catch up unless they shorten the academy so that they can run 4 classes per year and raise the pay so that enough qualified people will apply. The hiring process will have to take no more than 2 months start to finish to catch up with 300 positions to fill. Those in charge think things will recover with business as usual and they're all flat wrong.

I agree retired offciers should do backgrounds and hiring process stuff....

Have some full time sheriff deputies do some patrolling!!! There is rookies that just graduated from the academy siting in a courthouse. What LMPD and the city council scared of Aubrey? Tell him start doing some police work. Instead of playing court security.
