James: Use of alternate ID to enter gay-friendly spa doesn't matter |
RE: James: Use of alternate ID to enter gay-friendly spa doesn't...
Most took the first police job offered to them. Animosities were taught later. When people run into an arrogant lazy sh--head officer from another department, they tend to blame the department. Now that everyone's in the same department, people blame the divisions they're in. I blame the people in command who hired arrogant lazy sh--heads, who would be that way even if they worked at Walmart. Today they can simply point to the politicians only offering high $30,000s salary, expensive healthcare and a bad retirement plan.

Well, most of them didn't have the luxury of being hired on-the-spot by the "Metropolitan Correctional Services Department" (the Jefferson County Jail) after a hysterical job interview with LTC E.O. Johnson.
After all, it was the height of disco and they were all just "stayin' alive".

I only applied for, and was hired by LPD; not because I thought JCPD was inferior in some way, I just wanted to police in the city.
But, even though the two agencies would routinely razz each other, I think more often than not that was just all in good fun.
I know many former JCPD officers that I wouldn't hesitate to go into a fire-fight with, just as I can think of a few former LPD officers that I would rather not have for backup on a traffic stop.
I'm proud of my LPD heritage, but as others have said...merger happened FOURTEEN years ago! (Damn...makes it seem so long to see it typed!)
If you all would just concentrate on trying to make LMPD the best it can be instead of constantly dogging each other (even in those instances where it isn't necessarily a "county vs. city" thing), you just may be able to turn this ship around and make this a department to be proud of (once again).
