LMPD officer injured, suspect dead after shooting

OJT got people by in the past, but it's not working today. Louisville's changed substantially from what it was even 10 years ago. It used to be the "guns, random violence and angry kids" fairy tale that Conrad was talking up until recently. The last two Chiefs and their administrations spent much of the last several years denying gangs were even a problem. The department under-appreciated the relevance of proactive countergang and counterdrug detectives. The best they could come up with were patrol officers handed a detective badge and a goofy class C uniform.

You can't just blame the Detectives for this. They're just the victims of the irresponsible leadership who pinned all their hopes on community relations work. At least Donald has taken the handcuffs off the feds so they can do their part again and hopefully lead Conrad in a better direction.
