The Chief does a fine job of leading command staff parades to make everyone feel like they're protected. He should get his suit wearing friends to come along too. They could talk about the Obama 21st Century Policing handbook they spent years on being thrown into Jeff Sessions fireplace this winter.

What the chief needs to do is change our patch and cars with Monitor, because all we do is monitor crime and take reports. They keep saying we need more officers but what we really need is to let us police and BACK US when a knuckle head complains on a false complaint. And stop all the political correctness and let us stop the crime and killings. Its hard to police when you department will give you days for saying a cuss word at a knuckle head or forgetting to activate your camera. I want to police but cant......again I'm just a MONITOR for the city.

ATTENTION METRO COUNCIL...

Here is ONE thing you can spend budget surplus on right now to make a difference. Give take home cars after probation, not 3 years. That will get about 300 plus MARKED police cars visible in this city. I used to see police everywhere. I rarely see police ever. It will provide a visible presence, officer can and will respond, stop and help etc... taking 300 marked cars off the street is HUGE!!! and demand all division Sgt, Lts, Majors, ALL Training staff DRIVE MARKED CARS. No reason the Chief and his staff should not be in marked cars. SWAT in mostly marked cars... I understand why narcotics, some in 9th mobile, all of major crimes are in unmarked by you can have 500 marked cars VISIBLE in this city right away. Im retired so I aint looking for a car.. but LMPD is NOT very visible.. DAVID JAMES.... RUN WITH THIS.

First I retired in 2012 because I didn't like Conrads style of policing. I have been keeping up what is going on at LMPD through my friends still there and this website. It looks from a outsider that things are getting worse. No good retirement, large out of pocket insurance pays, no take home car for 3 yrs and this is just the perks end of it. Moral has gone down the tubes, no confidence vote for chief and administration. People just doing minimum to get by no enjoyment in their work. If this city doesn't see what is going on then they are blind or could care less. It is sad to see what could be a good dept get in the shape this one is. Now you will have the the as* kissers who will say I'm wrong or stupid but you need to step out of the box and take a good look at what is going on. Conrad will not listen to anybody or anything, he has that ex-chief White mentality of being a know it all and will not change. I'm sorry but you can't peace walk or hire a new figure head at $100,000+ or hug a thug your way out of this mess. It doesn't work. Until this city decides to get hard on crime and bust up the dopers and gangs nothing will change. Until the east end money has to deal with this crime nothing will change. Fisher doesn't give a **** about any of it or he would have done something when the shooting went down next to his head. People he just wants votes. There is retirements every month at LMPD and Conrad is lying to the public about it and always will, wouldn't you for what he is making. Policing used to be a great job in this city but no more it has become a force of social workers and report takers nothing more. This city is heading down a bad road and if the powers to be don't wake up and change it will go straight to Hel* sooner than later. I'm know a lot of you good officers are trying to do a good job but feel as if the command doesn't care. You are right. Maybe I pis*ed some off with what I have said but seriously the truth hurts sometimes. By the way I got a rehire application in the mail and might have considered it if the dept was different but not the way it is now. To all of you guys be careful out there and have a safe Christmas and New Year.
