It's not their livelihood. They are not losing their jobs. It's about what's best for the community. The Council and community leaders want the flex platoons to stay. And so do the officers. And so does the FOP. This is 21st Century policing at its best...not. 21C says elected leaders, community leaders and citizens, and law enforcement need to have REAL discussions about these things. That didn't happen. Chief said he's doing it. Mayor backed chief. No transparency or discussion. How the hell was LMPD or Conrad invited to DC and allowed to be awarded as accepting and embracing 21st Century policing?
