LMPD's detective work is straight out of 1976. The low clearance rates here speak for themselves. You don't go looking for informants after a murder happens. The narcotics and non-existent anti-gang unit should have information who they tap for info after a homicide and who are getting paid or working off charges. Doing a neighborhood canvass in a gang neighborhood won't get anything but kooks and speculators who don't know anything.
