This article reads to anyone outside the department as "we don't know how to police and can't be trusted to protect you." The community should know that the police won't do anything add protection until several hundred of them show up at city hall and demand it. You only get something from this Mayor if you make a ruckus with large numbers of people on TV. The command staff are his lemmings. He calls all the shots at LMPD.

Rosenberg would like to see Louisville Metro police continue those extra patrols but Louisville Metro Police Department Lt. Col. Kim Kraeszig said that's unlikely. This summer has seen two shootings at the edge of campus and Old Louisville, one on Fourth and Cardinal streets, and another at Third and Cardinal streets. Since that first shooting on May 28, there have also been 29 robberies, 48 burglaries and 67 car break-ins. Police have not made any arrests in either of the shootings that happened in Old Louisville over the summer.
