You must be one of those big time investigators, otherwise known as the ones who have completely failed to do their jobs, pushing all the blame from the crime surge on the "average cop." I've worked in a real city with real investigations, and the lack of initiative you can get by with here would get you fired in most other places. When the politicians finally take enough heat, they will replace you with an "average cop" and you will have to retire or take that transfer you won't want.
