you are correct about our total lack of capacity under the current and last chief. The charade is this - there are only a small handful of people that actually work at the RTCC. Not nearly enough to watch all the cameras and do intel work. They don't care if the RTCC is actually effective because its part of the dog and pony smoke and mirrors show. Just like the air mobile 101st ranger scout sniper SOC brigade of the 9th super duper division. dis beees so tahhded yo.

I've used RTCC a few times during various investigations, and they are very useful. You may never contact them and request their help, but that doesn't mean they aren't effective. They provide really actionable intel on suspects pretty often.

I understand that the city has put cameras in the most public places first (where tax payers frequent), and are still working on expanding the program, but why in the world aren't there cameras in some of the most obvious places (Park Hill, Beecher, Dosker, etc...)? I know that money is a driving factor, but it hard to believe the feds wouldn't provide a grant for those areas.

So, like most other things around here, we have a marginally effective unit that is understaffed and under-utilized.
