It's gotten bad, but the gen x crowd isn't nearly as bad as the millennials we have working for us now. They're supposed to be mature adult police officers, but they really just remind me of the teenage pothead marines I served with back in the early '80s.

Yeah, you're talking about millenials or Gen Zer's

Who are the 16 and 17 years olds in college ****** now on the police force? That's not Gen X either. They had a few protests in the 1960s that you must have forgotten about. You picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue or else should get checked for Alzheimers.

Boo Hoo Hoo! It's not fair I want to wear my uniform more! Dude its 80 hrs every 2 weeks no matter what...so nobody is getting out of work. We are a 24/7 department, so why not have a schedule that is more beneficial. If you want to talk about the old days...go back and see the benefits and hours LPD worked 70 years ago. Also, New officers are paying way more for insurance than you are. They are waiting 3+ years for the hopes of getting a take-home care, and they aren't getting the Pension you get at 20 years...when they got to work 25 years for the crappy one. They deserve to ask for a better shift, with more days and weekends off that a 12 hour shift provides. Lord knows you threw them under the bus, for your own self-interest last contract.
