Police chief to shake up patrol officers' shifts

Officers start becoming unhappy and much less active after a few years, once they figure out the job isn't everything they thought it would be. Sometimes it's the job itself or that they can't get promoted or into a Detective spot. Even some promotees and Detectives lose interest in the job. The department has been poorly managed since merger because of pervasive city hall politics in so many decisions and that aggravates the problem. There is no way I'd stick around this place without a 20-year pension coming. There are better offers without that.
