The taxes are the same. I lived out of county, then moved into the county, then 2 years later moved back out of the county. The metro government labels the tax as: Metro: In county Jeffco: out of county They are identical in the amount of taxes taken from the paycheck. The simply put a different name on it. Jefferson county residents pay no more in income taxes than someone living in Bullit county but working in Jefferson. And if you do not own your own Home you do not pay property tax either, so
