I absolutely agree. The guys that were initially out there that day on Campbell Street acted as they should have. I find no fault in their actions, all those guys that I know personally, (haven't worked with some of the others) are all dialed in and squared away. You are correct, things turn the way they do and you respond accordingly. There are times that some of us are our own worst enemies, and the rest of us may get painted with a broad stroke and lumped in by what they may say or do. I am not sure who it was or what "team" they belonged to, but someone did get on here an make statements about being superior to others on the department. No one owned that statement, so we don't really know who it was. If a team member, that is a sad and unfortunate attitude to have. In my opinion, your body of work will speak for itself, you don't have to blow your own horn. There are alot of great officers/Detectives that you never hear a boastful thing come out of their mouth. They are the real deal. I also agree about the amount of skill/experience that is on this department. The amount of combat veterans on this department is staggering, to all of you, you have my respect and thank you for what you have done. They also don't boast of their exploits, and yes, you could form a solid team or two out of those men and woman. They are a lesson in humility. Agreed, we should do a better job of policing ourselves, especially when an arrogant attitude like that rears itself. We all know plenty of those on this department. Good points you made, stay safe and watch out for each other.
