Open carry/concealed carry at court has nothing to do with “showing citizens what we prefer they do”. Bringing a weapon into the courthouse (with the exception of sworn officers of the law/court) is prohibited, whether concealed or openly carried. The issue is that individual judges get to decide if the police may carry in the judge’s specific courtroom, even if the officer is in uniform. Judges have been complaining to the court liaison and to headquarters that officers are walking around
